Staying busy…
Like the rest of the world, we’re safely isolating ourselves at home. All of our public events and work trips have been cancelled or postponed, but fortunately we still continue to create art at home. In fact, more so now than ever. So as this terrible virus forces us to change our lives, we do what we must to adapt and wait out the storm. I’m personally very grateful to have my family home with me. Stay vigilant and safe, everyone.
It was a full house with some patrons standing in the back at the @sbmaritimemuseum where my wife and I demonstrated our gyotaku process while marine biologist Emily Miller narrated to a very welcoming and encouraging audience. The best part of it all for me was being able to continue sharing this unique experience with our son.
The exhibit will be up until the end of March so do go see our art up close and hopefully very personal.
One month from now, we’ll be headed to Port Orford, Oregon to teach an intensive gyotaku workshop at the Oregon State University Port Orford Field Station, organized by Port Orford Sustainable Seafood.
$125 per person, all materials provided. I believe space is limited to 20 students. Sign up via Eventbrite! CLICK HERE
