Gyotaku Gallery & Store

Faithful to the original Japanese style of creating memorable prints for the avid fisherman; Gyotaku is simple & monochromatic.
It is the traditional Japanese alternative to taxidermy that began several hundred years ago by an ingenious calligrapher. Meant as a way to record a proud catch for fishermen, it can also be a stunning art form.

Reproductions are printed on handmade washi paper or premium unryu paper, which you can see here.
