After weeks of keeping it all under wraps, we are finally able to share the gyotaku art that we were invited to create of this ultra rare and pristine Pacific Footballfish. A type of deep sea Anglerfish that is only one of about 30 adult female specimens ever found.
The preserved anglerfish and our gyotaku art will be on display for a limited time at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County starting August 25th and ending on November 29th!
Reproduction prints at various sizes will be available for purchase on our Etsy store and eventually at the museum itself.
But before you head over to purchase a print, do take a look at the video and the article released by the NHMLA regarding the fish and the creation of the gyotaku print!
